Oscar Nominees: Best Adapted Screenplay

The nominees: Borat Subsequent Moviefilm, The Father, Nomadland, One Night in Miami, The White Tiger

I don’t understand the love for The White Tiger and, though I enjoyed it, do not think that Borat Subsequent Moviefilm needs to be here over quality dramatic scripts. It’s particularly disappointing to see “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom” omitted since its actors are undeniably talented, but the impact of their performances is enhanced tremendously by the lines they deliver. At least One Night in Miami wasn’t snubbed here like it was at the Golden Globes, joining The Father and Nomadland.

My current bet to win: I hope it’s One Night in Miami, but I guess it could also be “Nomadland” or “The Father.”
