Golden Globe Winner Predictions: Best Original Song
The competition: “Bound to You” by Christina Aguilera (Burlesque), “You Haven’t Seen the Last of Me” by Cher (Burlesque), “Coming Home” by Gwyneth Paltrow (Country Strong), “There’s a Place for Us” by Carrie Underwood (The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader), “I See the Light” by Zachary Levi and Mandy Moore (Tangled)
For your information: Both Cher and Aguilera have been nominated once before. This category often rewards big names – like Bruce Springsteen, Prince, Mick Jagger, and Bob Dylan – but that’s not always the case. There was a five-year curse where the winner of this award went on to be snubbed in the corresponding Oscar race, broken last year by Ryan Bingham for “The Weary Kind,” which won both the Globe and the Oscar.
Who should win: All pretty good songs – I think I like the one from “Tangled” best.
Who will win: Cher for “You Haven’t Seen the Last of Me”
