The nominees: Avatar, District 9, Star Trek

We have here our three expected nominees, and what’s interesting about them beyond the fact that they are all visually incredible is that two Best Picture nominees are represented in this category, with the third nominee here likely having just missed the cut. This isn’t really a race since this is the one place where the soon-to-be-highest-grossing-movie-ever has to win.
