SAG Winner Predictions: Best Actor in a Leading Role
The nominees: Jeff Bridges’ aging musician (Crazy Heart), George Clooney’s traveling transition man (Up in the Air), Colin Firth’s 60s professor (A Single Man), Morgan Freeman’s Nelson Mandela (Invictus), and Jeremy Renner’s bomb technician (The Hurt Locker).
Who’s not here: The gang’s all here – no one of note missing.
For your information: Freeman is the only actor who has won an individual SAG Award, for “Million Dollar Baby,” and was also nominated for “The Shawshank Redemption.” Clooney has two nominations, for “Michael Clayton” and “Syriana.” Bridges was nominated in 2000 for “The Contender.” Renner is also up for Best Ensemble this year.
Who should win: Firth
Who will win: It might be Bridges, but it will probably be Clooney here.
