SAG Predictions: Best Actress in a Supporting Role
Last year’s nominees: Jennifer Lawrence (American Hustle), Lupita Nyongo (12 Years a Slave), Julia Roberts (August: Osage County), June Squibb (Nebraska), and Oprah Winfrey (The Butler).
The rundown: The frontrunner here is Patricia Arquette (Boyhood), followed closely by Jessica Chastain (A Most Violent Year), Emma Stone (Birdman), and Keira Knightley (The Imitation Game). The fifth slot is wide open. I’m not sure this awards body will be too receptive of Meryl Streep (Into the Woods) and Anna Kendrick (Into the Woods), so they might opt for Laura Dern (Wild) or Carmen Ejogo (Selma) instead, or someone wholly unexpected!
Current predictions: Arquette, Chastain, Kendrick, Knightley, Stone
