Golden Globe Winner Predictions: Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Comedy/Musical
The competition: Christian Bale’s 70s con man (American Hustle), Bruce Dern’s confused patriarch (Nebraska), Leonardo DiCaprio’s cutthroat stockbroker (The Wolf of Wall Street), Oscar Isaac’s homeless musician (Inside Llewyn Davis), and Joaquin Phoenix’s lonely writer (Her).
For your information: DiCaprio has nine previous nominations, and has won once before. Phoenix has also won once before, out of three nominations. Bale won on his only nomination, for “The Fighter,” in 2010. Dern was nominated twice before in the 1970s. This is the first nomination for Isaac. All five of these men have their films nominated for Best Motion Picture – Comedy/Musical.
Who should win? Phoenix or Dern
Who will win? It could be Isaac, Phoenix, or DiCaprio, but I think it goes to Dern.
