Oscar Nominees: Best Adapted Screenplay

The nominees: District 9, An Education, In the Loop, Precious, Up in the Air

The mysterious fifth slot here goes to the best adapted screenplay of the year, in my opinion, and a very fun choice. The other four are all Best Picture nominees, and the omission of “The Blind Side” makes it the only Best Picture contender without a corresponding screenplay nod (or directing nod, in the case of “Avatar”).
