Moving On: 2007

2007 has come and gone, and I must say that it was my most exciting year yet in movies. I saw 112 movies ("Alvin and the Chipmunks" was on December 31st) from 2007 by year's end, as opposed to 89 from 2006 by this time last year. I am missing no major films which may garner awards, with the exception of documentaries and foreign films (a majority of which I will see in theatres in the next month and a half). At this point, I have very little idea about any 2008 films so who knows where we will be at this time next year. But there is still a lot more coming in the next two months related to 2007! Coming up in the next few weeks, in no discernable order as of yet:

Golden Globe Winner Predictions (Awards Sunday January 13)
1st Annual AFT Awards (my own personal choices for the best of 2007) Beginning January 28
Screen Actors Guild Winner Predictions (Awards Sunday January 27)
Oscar Predictions (Nominations Announced Tuesday January 22)
Ongoing reviews of films, mostly animated ones on DVD

**ALSO: Quick predictions for Directors and Writers Guilds of America nominees**

If you are sick of movies, make sure to head over to TV with Abe, my TV blog for some recommendations for shows on DVD to get you hooked and similar awards predictions for TV categories, plus reviews of all the decent TV on right now.

If you have not voted in the Golden Globe Best Motion Picture - Drama poll yet, please do so! The results are turning out to be very interesting, with each film getting at least some support and "Atonement" and "No Country for Old Men" neck-in-neck for the win.
